At Barloworld Handling we recognise our duty and responsibility to the protection and preservation of the Environment. In respect of this responsibility, we are committed to the following policies;

To operate a robust an active Environmental Management System to meet the requirements of the ISO 14001 standard
To ensure the awareness of and compliance to all relevant Environmental Legislation and Regulations and other relevant Industry guidelines.
Prevention of pollution and continually improving our environmental performance.

Environmental Objectives

To reduce the environmental impact of our activities we shall:-

Monitor, control and reduce where feasible the environmental impacts of:
- Energy and water consumption.
- Transport and travel arrangements.
- Waste sent to landfill.
Ensure that all employees receive appropriate training to make them aware of all the relevant environmental issues, their responsibilities and the Company's policies and procedures.
Periodically audit the Environmental Management System
Where reasonably practicable, set targets for environmental performance improvements and implement a monitoring system to effectively measure our environmental performance.
Promote ‘green' procurement principles when selecting products, services and suppliers.

Communication

This policy will be made known and available to all Barloworld Handling employees, subcontractors and suppliers. It will also be made available to our customers and any member of the public or interested party.
