Britvic Soft Drinks, one of the UK's leading soft drinks businesses, uses strong partners to handle over 1.4 billion litres of containerised soft drinks each year. Barloworld Handling is the partner it chooses to manage its materials handling fleet of over 200 units over 7 sites, and with some extra intelligence, it has helped Britvic to reduce cost and optimise efficiency, helping to keep the nation refreshed.

Barloworld's approach

Britvic needed a supplier to provide a range of equipment to suit different roles but also needed to optimise the fleet assets and control costs. Barloworld completed a survey analysis of Britivic sites prior recommending a new approach to its fleet and eventually recommended a mixed fleet of over 200 Hyster trucks including both warehouse and counterbalanced models. Barloworld provided a full service programme including onsite engineers and alongside this tyre and battery inspection services to keep the trucks performing their best. Finally a Fleet Management telemetry device was installed onto every truck in the fleet to monitor performance with automatic reporting via a dedicated portal.
