Pyroban explosion protection technology for Zone 2 operation
In Zone 2 areas, typically indoor or outdoor storage areas where an explosive atmosphere is not likely to occur in normal operation, all types of equipment may be needed.
Pyroban's solution system6000 :
- Combines gas detection with various explosion protection methods.
- Includes restricted breathing enclosures, surface temperature limitation to ensure the engine (if applicable), motors, brakes, electrics and other components remain below the auto-ignition temperatures of flammable materials.
- On diesel equipment, the Pyroban system includes an inlet shutdown valve for automatic and manual shutdown and a water cooled exhaust gas cooler to limit surface and exhaust temperatures.
- Stainless steel cladding of the forks or attachments.
- The system provides audible and visual warning when it detects a gas or vapour (at 10% Lower Explosive Limit (LEL) propane in air) and at 25% LEL, it shuts down the protected equipment automatically, eliminating the risk of an explosion.
- The system auto-calibrates and self-tests the gas head at start up to ensure it is working correctly.
- Available with either infrared or pellistor gas sensing technology to suit virtually any application. The traditional pellistor system detects more than 95% of hydrocarbons and is the most versatile, while Infrared technology is particularly suited to operations with specific hazards (for example, it suits distilleries, aerosol operations and the oil and gas sector).
