2/2/2009
Barloworld Handling has achieved ISO9001:2000 re-certification for the next 3 years after a recent BSI Strategic Review.
As one of the largest forklift suppliers in the UK, Barloworld maintains some 30,000 forklift trucks up and down the country. The company’s operations are spread strategically across the UK with a network of more than 1,100 personnel working at regional centres or remotely as account managers and service engineers. Barloworld manages numerous linked processes in its service delivery and its continuous investment in quality systems has resulted in a 98% customer satisfaction rating in a recent survey.
Chris Wren, National Quality Manager at Barloworld Handling explains “Our current and future customers demand that we have solid quality procedures across all sections of our business backed up by The British Standards Institute (BSI) & The United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS).“
In January, Barloworld Handling achieved ISO 9001:2000 quality re-certification for all its mainland UK sites including its Defence Logistics Support Division and National Service Response Centre.
Chris Wren continues “This is excellent news. ISO9001:2000 re-certification is very important as we strive for customer satisfaction, continuous improvement and service excellence, especially during the current economic climate.
“Fundamentally, our systems ensure customer requirements are met and where possible exceeded, creating value through loyal customers with world-class service excellence and innovation.”
As part of the Quality process, Barloworld continually measures its performance against customer requirements. The latest company reports show that 98% of its customers would use Barloworld again and 99% would recommend the company proving that good service delivers loyal customers.
“ISO9001:2000 certification is a valuable asset to our business and assists us in setting us apart from our competitors. The next step for the business is to make the transition to the recently updated quality standards ISO9001:2008 within the next 6 months” adds Chris.
