Get a total solution with Hyster new Generation Electric Forklifts
21/1/2009

Global materials handling giant, Hyster, claims that the new three wheel J1.5-2.0XNT and the four wheel J1.6-2.0XN forklift trucks will deliver the lowest cost of ownership for companies looking to reduce materials handling costs, amid rising energy prices.

New Hyster Electric TruckDavid Rowell, European Operations Manager of Hyster explains “The new Hyster electric forklifts have been designed to meet the increasing demands of the current industrial climate.  Reduced life-time costs, reduced energy consumption, maximum efficiency, maximum productivity, total reliability and flexibility are all key requirements.”

The range offers a wide choice of electric counterbalanced models and configurations for the most demanding operations.  Standard models have between 1.5t – 2t lifting capacities with various lift heights and are available in 3 or 4 steer-wheel configurations, both with front wheel drive.

Hyster electric range meets even more application needs

For the first time, Hyster has expanded its 3-wheel front wheel drive offering to include an entry level 1.5 tonne model, ideally suited to the needs of lighter applications.    With this new model, customers are able to choose a value truck that offers many of the groundbreaking new features available across the new range.New Electric Forklift

The complete Hyster JXNT/JXN range from 1.5-2.0 tonnes, is designed around a low profile, drop battery box concept, primarily for use with DIN batteries.  Nevertheless, the battery compartment can also accommodate “custom” battery types, which feature larger cells than DIN batteries, delivering more available charge and energy, and can therefore work for longer without the need for recharging, saving time and money.  With a range of wheelbase, battery types and capacity offerings, no other manufacturer can offer such a wide choice of standard configurations, to match the varying requirements of so many applications.

Throwing some light on low cost of operation

The new generation trucks help to deliver the Hyster brand promise by providing the lowest cost of ownership to a wide range of customers and industries.  They contribute to this by recording the lowest energy consumption levels in the industry whilst still achieving high productivity.  They are also designed to deliver maximum dependability and low maintenance costs, with the easiest serviceability in the industry. Many small things make the difference to dependability.  From the latest AC motor technology on both hoist and traction; the use of high quality, durable components including enclosed traction and pump motors, and disc brakes; the VSM (Vehicle System Manager); thermal protection;  improved component location to the use of CANbus technology.

Service intervals are at 1000 hours and many of the serviceable components have been repositioned so that they are easier and quicker to maintain.  Tests carried out according to SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) guidelines already show that these trucks score better on serviceability than their main competitors.

Driving the business

The technological advances incorporated into the trucks have decreased energy consumption and lifetime costs while increasing performance.  However, it is a fact that around 80% of the running cost of a forklift is the operator.

“Drivers are critical to the success of an operation.  That’s why our design teams focus so much energy on ergonomics” David Rowell adds. “Hyster products are developed in the highest quality forklift research, development and testing facilities in the world.”

The new J1.5-2.0XNT and J1.6-2.0XN series are packed with features that help companies get the best from their drivers to sustain high levels of productivity.  The Hyster dealer network also offers comprehensive training for drivers so that they can get the best out of their machine.

Total Solutions

Hyster understands that most customers don’t just want lift trucks, they want a total solution to their materials handling needs, leaving them to concentrate on their core business.   With Hyster, customers benefit from the global resources of a leading supplier combined with the local expertise, financial solutions and customer support from an extensive dealer network.

They also expect leading edge products.  Working day or night, indoors or outdoors, in demanding applications everywhere, the new Hyster J1.5-2.0XNT and J1.6-2.0XN series will demonstrate the company’s latest answer to the customers’ need for cost-efficient materials handling productivity.

In the UK, Hyster’s distribution partner is Barloworld Handling providing superior support, advice and added value services nationwide.
