Team Barloworld is Barloworld's professional cycling team who broke into the ‘big time' in 2007 when they were awarded a wildcard entry into the Tour De France, the biggest and most prestigious cycling event in the world.

Barloworld are the main sponsors of Team Barloworld and set up the team in February 2003 with a view to compete in the Tour de France within five years.

In 2007 Team Barloworld were the first UK registered team to ride in the Tour De France for 20 years and surprised pundits with a series of top five finishes and two stage wins whilst their Columbian climbing sensation, Maurico Soler also won the prestigious ‘King of the Mountains' trophy.

Team Barloworld are a professional cycling team consisting of leading riders from a number of countries including Italy, Spain, Austria, South Africa, Australia, Columbia and the UK. They are lead by team boss, the highly experienced Claudio Corti and have an extensive international race programme.

In 2008 Team Barloworld chose to team up with Bianchi race bikes and ride the advanced Bianchi 928 Carbon T-Cube.

Team Barloworld are building a highly competitive team and count up-and-coming British riders Stephen Cummings and Geraint Thomas amongst their squad.
